In the first quarter of the year, Georgia exported 17.3 million liters of wine to 51 countries, generating a total value of $53.2 million, according to the National Wine Agency. These figures reflect a measurable expansion in ექსპორტი [eksporti] (exports), indicating continued international demand for Georgian wine across multiple regions.

Compared to the same period in the previous year, both volume and financial returns showed growth. The Agency reported a 5% increase in exported volume and a 7% rise in total value, pointing to a strengthening მოთხოვნა [motkhovna] (demand) and improved pricing conditions in foreign markets.

Several countries recorded notable increases in imports of Georgian wine. Germany emerged as one of the fastest-growing destinations, with shipments reaching 375,000 liters, representing a 32% year-on-year rise. The United Kingdom also showed growth, with exports increasing by 9% to 86,000 liters. Meanwhile, deliveries to China rose by 4%, totaling approximately 831,000 liters, further reinforcing its role as a stable ბაზარი [bazari] (market) for Georgian producers.

In parallel with export growth, the Georgian government allocated €829,496 for wine promotion in Germany, aiming to strengthen brand visibility and expand distribution channels. Such targeted initiatives are part of broader efforts to enhance international პოპულარიზაცია [popularizatsia] (promotion) and support long-term positioning in competitive markets.

Beyond wine, the Agency reported that alcoholic beverages were exported to 38 countries during the same period. Total exports in this category reached 7.6 million liters, with a combined value of $56.6 million. Revenue in this segment increased by 3%, reflecting steady performance in შემოსავლები [shemosavlebi] (revenues) despite varying conditions across global markets.

Georgia’s wine industry has historically relied on diversification of export destinations to reduce dependency on a limited number of markets. The current data, covering shipments to 51 countries, illustrates a continued strategy of geographic expansion and risk distribution, contributing to greater stability in ინდუსტრია [industriya] (industry) performance.
