MARIAM
Born in Batumi, she graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University with a degree in journalism and has since worked for several major Georgian news agencies. Specializing in cultural and social topics, Mariam is particularly passionate about Georgia’s rich history, and contemporary arts scene. In addition to her journalism career, she contributes to short stories inspired by Georgian legends and everyday life. She enjoys traditional Georgian dancing, cooking khachapuri (cheese-filled bread), and traveling around the country.

ZURAB
He studied at the Georgian Technical University and specialized in architecture. Passionate about preserving traditional Georgian architectural elements Zurab worked on multiple projects across the country, including residential and cultural buildings. He eventually became interested in sharing this cultural heritage with the world and joined the Georgian Institute. In his free time, he enjoys hiking in the Caucasus mountains, photography, and playing the panduri (a traditional Georgian string instrument). He is also a wine enthusiast and loves learning about different regional winemaking techniques.

EKA
Eka is our marketing manager and the quiet force behind the consistent look and feel of everything we create. She oversees strategy, storytelling, and visual identity, making sure that every piece of language and cultural content reflects Georgia with authenticity. She is a mother of two and married to her American born husband, whose journey into Georgian language and culture deeply inspired her. Watching him persevere while learning one of the world’s most unique languages reminded her how much patience and determination it takes. She wishes you the very best in your Georgian studies.

GIORGI
With years of experience teaching Georgian at university level, he has become a true reference point for his colleagues, someone people turn to for advice in teaching. Despite his academic reputation, Giorgi is really down to earth. He loves spending his evenings watching football, especially the UK Premier League. Match days are serious business in his house! He is a proud father of two and takes special joy in teaching them English while nurturing their connection to their native Georgian.

NINO
Nino was raised in the mountains in Svaneti. She remembers the years when many relatives and friends left in search of better opportunities. Those departures shaped her. While others went abroad, she chose to stay, holding on to language and culture. She studied languages and eventually mastered five of them. For Nino, teaching Georgian is not just about grammar or vocabulary. It is about helping people reconnect with their roots and feel that sense of belonging again. In her free time, she seeks out the lesser known corners of Georgia and likes traveling around Europe.
